Speedy 1050

Speedy 1050: This is upgrade for Atari 1050 floppy disk drive, manufactured by Compy Shop (now ABBUC) in 1986. It features increased data transfer speed (57 kbps versus the stock 19.2 kbps). Has an 8 Kb buffer. And also features a built-in DOS and copy program. Device features a track and density indicator and a speaker. There was a version of Mini-Speedy 1050 without indicators and speaker.

The Speedy 1050 may operate erratically in high-speed mode with NTSC computers due to marginal write timing. Version 1.6 or later firmware is needed for reliable high-speed writes in NTSC.
